Training / FAQ
Questions,
answered clearly.
Course selection, assessment, pricing, equipment and eligibility—the practical details before you register.
01How do I register?
Check the calendar, send the registration form, and pay the $850 deposit. We confirm within one business day with your course pack, prerequisites and balance details.
02How does the deposit work?
The $850 deposit holds your seat and is credited in full toward the course fee. The balance, plus applicable taxes, is invoiced before the start date. Deposits are non-refundable.
03What does rope access certification cost?
Single IRATA or SPRAT certification is $2,000 + HST. Dual IRATA + SPRAT is $2,350 + HST. Rescue, safety and corporate programs are scoped per cohort.
04IRATA or SPRAT—which should I take?
IRATA is the most widely recognized internationally; SPRAT is common across North America. Many technicians take the dual program. Tell us where you want to work and we will advise.
05What happens at assessment?
Every rope-access course ends with an independent IRATA Assessor or SPRAT Evaluator. Successful candidates receive a digital record of attainment while certification is processed.
06What if I do not pass?
You receive a recommendation for additional training and we help schedule reassessment as soon as practical.
07Must I register with IRATA first?
Yes. IRATA candidates register on the TechConnect portal before the course. The confirmation pack walks you through it.
08What do Level 2 or 3 upgrades require?
Proof of experience. Email photos of your last two logbook pages to info@tascforce.ca. Missing or incomplete logbooks cannot be assessed.
09What are the age and fitness requirements?
Candidates must be at least 18, have valid photo ID, and be physically and mentally fit for full, physical days at height. Consult a doctor if you have a medical concern.
10What should I bring?
Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. TASC provides all technical equipment, including helmets, plus a training manual. Expect theory homework most evenings.
11Where do courses run?
Sarnia, Ontario. Exact venue details and directions arrive in your confirmation pack. Corporate and team programs can run at your site.
12Can you add more dates?
Often, yes. Cohorts are added as demand fills. Message us with the course and your timing and we will try to accommodate.
